Hello and hope you’re enjoying spooky month as much as I am. We have a lot of updates to share with you so lets get to those.
The above image is a screenshot for a personal project that I have been busy working on during the lull periods of web development. Its a memory game featuring characters from the Netflix animated series: The Dragon Prince. This can be named a fan project but it has actually helped me practice programming (as seen on the image above). Improvement in programming such as JavaScript and Java is one of the objectives that I am working on. I have been working on troubleshooting the pesky bugs first before they become a hassle to work around.
So, all in all, the memory game won’t be out for testing anytime soon but its a fun project to add to my portfolio since its technically game development. The best thing that helped me is the less storage space that I have to use during the process of coding. The software that people would recommend is Unity for game production but I found a solution thanks to a friend on discord for suggesting this.
The software is called Godot Engine and its completely open source. You won’t see that in other game development software. The tutorials are easy to find and use for anything that I struggle on. I would recommend this to any aspiring developer even if you don’t make a game out of it. Its still a great resource to learn about because not a lot of companies know about it. That is what makes Godot Engine so unique.

That’s what it looks like when you have a 2D node active. That’s correct. This thing gives you the ability to add or remove 2D or 3D nodes when you click on the cross icon underneath the scene tab above. You can then make a script to program the nodes to your liking. Its a very helpful tool!
This update was weeks late and I apologize for that. The next update will hopefully be out before my wedding but if not then afterwords.
This was a very informative blog for a beginner like me. I will definitely look into the Godot Engine. I wasn’t sure what nodes were and was hoping the pictures might offer help. I would like to suggest one thing, since the pictures are kind of on the dark side, if you could allow for the reader to enhance them when clicked on, that would be a tremendous help to see them better.
The portfolio refresh looks fantastic. I think you did a great job keeping everything polished and professional.
